On the 18th December 2007 our school celebrated its 50th birthday. The school was given an eighty-million crown renovation from the local authority. The public had a chance to have a look round the school the whole day. They could also visit workshops of the teachers which were aimed at media education. The main project topic was "A building of the centuries". The official opening ceremony took place at 2 pm. The new school was opened by Tomas Chalupa, the mayor of Prague 6 and Jindrich Kitzberger, the vice-minister of education. The mayor was willing to give an interview to the students who take part in the project Digiskills. http://danielar.podomatic.com/

On the 31st of November, Uschi Schmack, co-ordinator of the Digiskills project, visited our school, IES Guaza, located in Teneriff, Spain. We would like to take this opportunity to thank her for all the useful information she shared with us during this thriving meeting. It was not only a way of updating our commitments in the project for this last year, but also a successful way of uprising the interest of taking part in the project among the teachers of our school. Gracias por todo, Uschi.

At Richard-Wagner-Gymnasium Bayreuth various teachers from different schools of the Upper Franconian region, who are involved or interested in Lifelong Learning Programme, met to talk about Comenius. Also the DigiSkills project was presented. The different tools we use in the project were shown, such as the DigiSkills platform, the DigiSkills webjournal, the DigiSkills blogs, etc. The DigiSkills eTwinning project was of interest, too.

From 8th to 12th May 2007 teachers from all the 10 Digiskills schools met at Lafayette high school in Brioude. During this projectmeeting all the partners worked on ICT very conscientiously. They presented what they had done with their students such as a webTV, some podcasts or an online radio. New web 2.0 tools were shown to the participants who were really impressed. They also did some 'international cooking': various Greek, Danish, Swedish, Spanish, German and French recipes were tasted and it was a success.... Great job!

Since some months I focus on several Social Networks like MyBlogLog. This community belongs to Yahoo now and offers each owner of a blog to be part of other communities. Actually, there are e-digiskills, DigiLifeBlog and IT-ANWENDUNGEN part of that growing Network.

From 16th to 20th January 2007 teachers from all the 10 Digiskills schools met at 20th High School in Patras. During these days we had various work sessions where we talked about the achievements and further plans of this project year. But we also made plans for a new project year, whose application will be on 30th March. Apart form the 'serious' moments we had moments fulll of joy and friendship like on the last evening when Kaity distributed gifts. Moreover we had a reception at the town hall, where the vice mayor welcomed the Digiskills teachers. We also paid a visit to the governor of Achaia, who was delighted to have so many European teachers in his office. Our hosts also offered us a cultural programme. We visited Achaia Claus wine factory in Patras and made a trip to Olympia where some partners had a Digiskills race. It's unknown who won. Many thanks to our hosts Costas, Makis and Maria!

In 13-year-olds ICT lessons at the school Pod Marjankou students created the e-zine Sedmak as part of the project School Magazine. In the project " School Magazine" we are nearly finished with learning the basic ICT skills: (briefly) as REPORTERS the children wrote an article, they saved it in the shared folder, as HEAD REPORTERS they chose 5 of the articles and copied them in one document, as EDITORS they went through the chosen articles and corrected the possible formal, grammatical or stylistic mistakes, as GRAPHIC ARTISTS they planned the front page of the newspapers - logo, its name - put in the pictures and photos and they made the final format of the page. This wasn´t the only thing we did this year. I prepared e-zine Sedmak and the students also became internet media journalists. The work in this field is in its early stages. The aim is to try publishing on the internet, so that the students have the skills to use e-zine in other subjects, e.g. Czech lessons or EFL lessons.

Proposal: we could discuss the possibility to receive the national quality label and fill in the application form during our meeting in Regenstauf. I guess that Hans could help us because he already has received the label for his school. Afterwards we can try to get the European quality-label.
